lattes for el salvador

the turning point has a great partnership with our sister church in san salvador, el salvador. we recently sent a member missionary team to visit and encourage the church there. there is a tremendous need for the word of God to be spread in this city and this country. el salvador is still recovering from the civil war that ended in 1992, and the emotional scars run deep. after several leadership changes, josue & veronica ortega moved to lead the church there in August of 2009. God has been blessing the church there and many people are becoming Christians.

there is a great need for spiritual and financial support, and God has made it possible for the turning point to provide some of that help. one of our members came up with this idea, because of the stories that the team brought back about how far the american dollar can go towards helping people there. she thought of the $3.50 latte that she had that morning, and realized how much that money could have done in el salvador. thus, the “lattes for el salvador” program was born.

here’s how you can help: take the money that you would have spent on a latte for one week, and donate that money ($3) to our sister church in el salvador. you can donate one latte a month, or one a week, or even more, if you are a serious coffee drinker! you can make a one-time donation, or you can set up a recurring donation.

one latte - $3 (one time donation, automatic withdrawal once a week or once a month)
two lattes - $6 (one time donation, automatic withdrawal once a week or once a month)
three lattes - $9 (one time donation, automatic withdrawal once a week or once a month)
